I like the convenience of occasionally using paper plates and bowls. With the cost of plates and bowls going up, I’ve been rinsing, drying and reusing them.

Want to quit something? Avoid temptation by not having it around. Out of sight, out of mind.
Just a dab will do you
That’s right. Just dab. That is all the toothpaste you need on your brush to do a good job. Any more is just wasteful. Save the difference and see how much longer your toothpaste lasts!
Date your opened goods
I’ve started labeling my opened refrigerated goods with the open date. I simply take a permanent marker and write the date on the top of the lid. That way, with a glance, I’ll know how long its been in the fridge and if its time to toss it.
Stock out, then buy
For most groceries, I will wait to buy until I’ve run out of the item, and not before. That helps to save money and avoid accumulating excess inventory that could ultimately spoil.
Better butter
Was at the store today trying to decide if I wanted to buy four sticks of my favorite TJ’s organic butter for $4.99 or get half as much of a “Irish grass fed” brand at $2.99. I don’t use butter much. So, while the $4.99 butter was a better deal per ounce, I went instead …

U-verse TV charges reduced by 75%
Just reduced my at&t U-verse TV charges from $75 to $19 (both before taxes) by slimming down the channel line-up from more than 300 to about a dozen local channels.
